As a London based designer, I have had the privilege of working with so many fantastic people and brands. Currently working as Design Development Manager for one of the UK's leading bridal retailers, I work across multiple brands designing every aspect of a brides gown. Taking designs from my initial sketch to the dress that hangs in-store. I work closely with worldwide manufacturers to ensure expert craftsmanship. With the wider creative team working across departments we deliver beautiful lookbook and editorial imagery, shooting content and working with a talented group of external photographers.
I studied Womenswear Fashion Design at Northumbria University and Cambridge School of Visual and Performing Arts. I have always been fascinated with garment construction and surface detail. Through my studies, I focused on construction, corsetry, beading and embellishments.
Clothing is powerful and has the ability to build a woman up. Through stylish practical day wear, or beautifully constructed occasion wear. Whether its a pair of trousers they wear ever week or a dress only worn once, clothing should serve them and their lifestyle.
BA HONS FASHION
EMILIO DE LA MORENA
My first experience in the rush of a fashion studio was as a design assistant at Emilio De La Morena. I joined the London team working with the design and production teams, assisting with research, pattern cutting and production. I was will the designer for the entire collection development and assisted dressing at the Somerset House LFW show.
Working with Sutors Gin as Stuart and Ed founded their brand was such an exciting project to work on. When I joined them in Scotland they had a logo and an incredible gin. I worked with them to establish their brand identity, designed their bottle, developed content strategy options and shot their initial imagery.
LUXURY SALES MANAGER
Being highly driven and goal orientated, my first job out of university was in sales management. I ran the top taking store within the company, managed some of the highest performing sales staff and consistently achieved sales targets and KPIs. I systematically raised sales conversion and units per transaction. I was promoted from store manager to senior store manager and was given the London region to manage, working with four stores, their management and sales teams.
Having my first years post-grad in sales and operations has grounded my design and creative work. It is essential to remember that the customer is at the centre of everything you do. No matter how far removed your work may be from the consumer, to be successful they need to be at the heart of everything you do.
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Currently working as Design Development Manager at Wed2b one of the UK's leading bridal retailers. I design across all brands researching and developing designs, working with manufacturers throughout the production and development process.
Data led design work is at the forefront of what we, as a starting point, development comparison and KPI, Sales Data and Sales Staff Feedback are essential to commercial design work.
I also work with the creative team across departments to delivery beautiful lookbook and editorial content.
Sketching, painting and drawing I love working on stylish modern illustrations. Currently, I'm working a lot in the digital world creating modern minimal fashion portraits and prints. However, I also work sketching in pencil and fine liner and painting with watercolour.
Photography has been a consistent companion throughout nearly all of the other work I have done. I love it. Whether its capturing fashion in the street, family portraits, shooting a wedding/engagement or working with brands and businesses to capture their products, I just love creating
From my time at university to today, blogging has kept me inspired, motivated, and creative. Through the years of clumsy style choices, DIY photoshoots, amazing trips, interesting people, blogging has been the never-ending refining project that has continued to develop my skills, grow my network and forces me to strive for progress.
I live with a constant drive and infinite ideas I want to work on.
I could have more hours in the day and more days in the week. In the creative visual world, the possibilities are endless.
Blogging helps me frame my goals and achievements, it lets me refine personal and professional skills I'll need for the rest of my career.
