It really does feel crazy the I took these photos just a week ago. It was a beautiful summery evening in Kew gardens, with my beautiful blogger friend, and wonderful photographer Valentina. We had spent the day visiting stunning locations all over London and finished up here in the stunning Hive in Kew gardens. Not only does the weather seem a world away from the chilly morning and evening this week, but life for me has completely changed too. Last week I was about 3 months into non stop applying for jobs, only hearing rejection, it was so so tough. I have worked so hard through my final year, working in the studio everyday of the week for months on end, financially the final year of fashion was a big strain on me and my family, and it was so difficult dealing with the barriers between me getting a job. I was tired and I would be completely lying if I told you I was keeping my head up and staying positive. Then out of the blue on Friday I was asked for an interview, and I began working on Saturday the very next day. The job wasn’t what I was expecting or planning for but it came out of nowhere and its been a really positive first week, I get to work with lovely people and beautiful clothes everyday.
So now I’m facing new things everyday, I’m learning my new job, I’m adjusting to long early and late commutes, finding enough smart enough work clothes to get me started on next to nothing, and making decisions about the future. With my commute being as far at it is, I am very much in an eat sleep work repeat habit and finding it difficult to see when I will have the time for anything else. It looks like I might be moving down to London a lot faster than I anticipated so I have a lot to think about finances, location, rooms, commute, everything. I suppose its so important to see all of this as amazing new possibilities and opportunities instead of stressful unknowns. I’ll have to work on that.
The outfit is one of my all time favourites! Its a £12 Primark shirt dress, my Vivienne Westwood Alex belt, South Beach sunnies, and my fake Gucci bag I got from China (sorry not sorry #brokegirl) I have been thinking about designing and selling some of my favourite dress style with a Georgina twist on them on here, I have so many ideas that I have been sketching down over the last few months and I think it may soon be time to set things in motion. What I love most about this outfit is how flattering it is on me, and how easy it is to wear, there is nothing worse than an outfit where you feel like you need to keep pulling and shifting, a loose belted shirt dress is just perfect.
I have so much more already to post with you over the next few weeks and will also be sharing my new adventures working in London, commuting, moving etc so follow along to see more.
